A Moment of Enthusiasm
I’m psyched about this new e-book for beginning freelancers that James and I are putting together. If projects had a smell, I think this one would be the equivalent of “new car”.
There are so many possibilities to explore with a new project: color options for the theme, photos to choose from for the cover, fonts to select, and proper layout. A whole bunch of other things run through my head non-stop until the day I sit down with the pieces of project in hand, ready to pull it all together.
Projects have their stresses, too, and this ebook for beginning freelancers is going to have its share. A project that involves graphics is a little like redecorating a room, moving the furniture around.
What I can visualize in my head without moving a thing, James can’t. I swear, if that man were from the U.S., he’d be from the “Show Me” state of Missouri. James has to see with his eyes, not his imagination. He has to see to believe. He has to see to understand. Then he asks me to make changes. Then he changes the changes. And changes them again.
That’s okay, because a lot of times the changes he asks for are big improvements, even if the requests do have me muttering under my breath half the time.
This ebook for beginning freelancers will be good. We’ve seen enough of what the competition is putting out, and we’ve both decided that we can do a lot better than what the next guy is doing. Keep an eye out for it!
