Some websites for online business success are worthy of noting, and one I rather like is Derek Gehl’s Marketing Tips.
The site itself is a bit too salesy for my tastes (we Canadians aren’t very attracted by that), but the information this site sells is good and has applicable, easy-to-understand techniques for online business success. I’ve downloaded a free ebook on marketing and am pleased with the quality and tips inside. Well done, Derek.
The only thing I’m disappointed with is that about two months ago, the site was packed with free advice and good articles that anyone could read. If you wanted to buy marketing strategy ebooks, you could, but you could also get some free help.
I’ve poked around for quite some time this morning, and it seems that the new site design and layout has removed all that excellent advice. Shame. That free advice was one reason I kept coming back to Derek’s website.
And there’s the catch – because I found good information and valuable advice I could apply without paying through the nose or getting caught in yet another ebook scam, Derek’s site had me coming back for more. That’s a smart business strategy I wish other individuals would use.
Value for the visitor matters to create a successful online business. Will Derek’s sales go down, now that his free advice is no longer available? Definitely not – he’s managed to build his brand and reputation. People (like me) will recommend his products. Sales will increase. He slowly worked on building a solid reputation of being an excellent resource for online businesses, and he’s made some good decisions to maintain an expert image.
Now if he would only take out those annoying drop-downs and pop-ups off his site…

Please drop by again – we have a blog that carries the information and advice that you’re looking for.
It covers all aspects of starting and marketing an Internet business… hope you like it.
We also have a lot of new items coming in the new year- and they are free.
