Sometimes I still do on certain gigs. We have to find the rate that's right for what we do and what we give to clients, but we also have to find the rate that fits best with us and our values. That's not always easy. But I do want to suggest a different tactic to you: have two prices. Have an ideal rate that you'd love to be paid, and quote that, and then have a lower rate that you'll never go below. This gives you a sliding rate area that you can work within comfortably.
