Participate in RSS Awareness Day
We love teaching people and helping them improve their days to have more free time so they can go play outside. Well, James loves playing outside. Harry likes to help people.
That’s why we decided to participate in RSS Awareness Day happening on May 1st (and you can, too.) The day involves writing something about RSS. A poem, a tutorial, an opinion piece…Write anything at all, as long as it helps increase awareness about RSS.
Even better? (Here’s the clincher for James.) Daily Blog Tips wants to encourage participation in RSS Awareness Day, and they’re doing so by hosting a great giveaway to those who write about the day now (May 1st doesn’t count).
Check out some of the prizes Daily Blog Tips is offering – nearly $3,000 worth of stuff!
- 5 $100 credit vouchers from Sponsored Reviews ($500)
- 6 $50 cash prizes via Paypal ($300)
- $250 in credits from FlashDen ($250)
- 1 year of free web hosting from Doreo ($100)
- 5 registrations with 10,000 credits on 125 Exchange ($100)
- 3 copies of Landing Page Optimization: The Complete Guide ($300)
- 3 packages with 100,000 impressions from BlogUpp!
- a 3-month enrollment to the SEOBook training program ($300)
- 3 single licenses to any iThemes Premium theme ($240)
- 3 $100 credit vouchers to buy links from TNX ($300)
- 5 copies of “Killer Domains: How to Find the Perfect Domain Name” ($100)
- 5 free banner designs from MiniBannersZen ($100)
- 3 single licenses to the Mimbo Pro Premium theme ($300)
Are you in? We are. (Harry says it’s because we’re good guys. James says it’s because he wants to win something fun.) You have until April 30 to post about RSS Awareness Day and get involved in both a nice idea and great prizes.
Good luck!

What reader(s) do all you Penfolk use? I’m a brand new Blogliner myself, but I’ve used Google Reader as well. Any benefits to one over the other? Tips or Tricks? Or am I jumping the gun, and that will be in a later blog post?

Google Reader here for both of us. Haven’t explored using any others, but I’ve heard about Netvibes. Have no idea if it’s good. We’re happy with Google.
oh I can’t wait to read all about this so I will be smart enough to write all about it.
I use feedburner. Is that good? Does that count?

Hehehe… Feedburner is a feed publishing application. Yes. It’s good. We use it
@James Ah yes, Netvibes. I tried it for a week or so awhile back, and I had to stop. The site was just to damned ugly. I couldn’t bear to look at it every day. Hopefully it’s been redesigned since then. (I just peeked, and appears someone has taken pity on the poor thing and given it a minor update.)
@Wendi *giggle* That’s enthusiasm!

I didn’t know about this, even though I know about RSS Day. I wrote my pre-post today about using RSS. Now, I guess I can do another for my pre-pre-post.
