Post Blog Expo Report

Man, what a day. I’m bushed. Schmoozing Blog Expo takes a lot out of a guy, you know?
Ah, but I was quite the charmer, handing out business cards and getting cards in return, spreading our name around. Even Jamie would have been impressed.
Although I had fun, the convention was rather disappointing in a couple of ways. For one, there was a lot of confusion about the conference schedule. My first seminar, Amping Up your WordPress Blog, wasn’t anywhere to be seen on the placard of the session rooms. I found out it was canceled.
Nothing else was available, and I had an hour or two to kill before my next seminar. I have to admit that there were a couple of times I thought about packing it in and going home. Each time I looked at my watch, I figured I had stayed this long; why not stay a little longer?
As it turns out, this is the first year the Blog Expo is running. It’s a learning experience for everyone. I hope the producers learned what to improve on for next year.
Overall, it seems a mixed bag as to what people expected from the show. Some think it’s great and claim they’ve received a lot of information. Then there are folks like me who are looking around saying, “Is this all there is?”
Maybe I had high expectations. I’m used to trade shows like Show West (held annually in Vegas) or SIGGRAPH in
Then again, they’ve been around for a while. I think Blog Expo will grow into its own as it gets more exposure. I sure hope so, because I plan to come to Blog Expo again next year. Why?
Because I want to see what happens next.
