Reviewing Ezines Etc. : The Beginning

In the effort to keep crap content out of my inbox and distractions at a minimum, I started looking at the ezines and newsletters I subscribe to. My intentions are to axe time-wasters that don’t deliver much value.

I’m going to review the ezines, newsletters, and other mail I receive as I take my decision on whether to keep them. Of course, my reviews aren’t intended to be more than my personal opinion. Everyone with an online business works hard and obviously, if I found the content to begin with, that author or publisher did something right.

But only through critique may we improve, and that goes for my own material as well.

I’m going to share my reviews of newsletters and ezines here on the blog. I should probably name this series Jamie’s Inbox Extravaganza, or something quaint like that. All suggestions welcome. I might even run a contest for a name.

Feel free to respond on my opinions, comments and reviews as they get posted. If you’d like my review of any ezines, ebooks or newsletters, let me know by emailing me a link or posting it up in the comments. I’ll read, review, and let you know what I think.

Stay tuned for my first review!

  1. I’m looking forward to reading this! Consider the name “Rumblings from the Inbox” or something along those lines, James.

I’m a fan of Lee Mark Stein (direct marketing). He’s got a great newsletter. How would you like to take your magnifying glass and give it a good scan?

  3. James says:

You’re on, Sharon. Although that defeats the purpose of cleaning up my inbox by subscribing to another newsletter… ;)

    Rumblings… hm… I like that…

  4. sharon says:

Don’t think you need to subscribe, James. The current newsletter is posted on his web site, I think. If not, I’ll send you a copy.

    how about e-zine round robin?
    or e-zine reviews?
    e-zine critiques?

  6. James says:

Too late on the subscription – besides, I don’t mind. I like subscriptions. Free ones, at least.

Good suggestions on the title – need catchier than that. Put your creativity to work!

Go ahead - speak your mind!
