After reading a post from Wendy over at Freelance Parent about her site’s page rankings moving around, we checked our own.Yep, we hit PR4 today, folks, and I have to admit, we’re pretty pleased.
Thanks to everyone who is helping make this blog a success. We’ve put in tons of hard work with plenty more to come, and we’re working to turn our blog into one that makes people sit up and take notice. (Or at least one that makes people think a little.)
But our PR wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for you. So, thank you again. We appreciate it.

My skateboarding blog jumped from 0 pr to 1/10! I’m excited.
Amazing how excited we get over one little point, huh? Congrats to you too, Jorge.
When you’re going from 0 to 1 or 6 to 7, I don’t think any of the points are little. Each one is something pretty cool to savor.
Not sure why, because I don’t care much about ranking, but I know I’ve already told my daughter, my neighbors, and I’m about to call my mom.
Good on you, Jorge. Keep up the good work.
I didn’t mean little in a bad way, they’re pretty hard to get. I haven’t told anyone here. If I did, I’d get that blank look and have to explain what PR is, right before moving on to clarify for the umpteenth time what a blog is.
No, I think I’ll just celebrate quietly with a cold bottle of cider in one hand and a smug grin on my face for the rest of the night.
They’re not assigned in linear order, either. For example, it takes 10 hits to get a PR 1, 18 hits to get a PR 2, but it might take 50 hits to get a PR 3 and then 400 hits to get a PR 4 and so on. Just picking numbers off the top of my head, but that’s what I hear.
Anyways, any achievement is cool.
Cheers, bro
Congrats!
I’m not sure that is something I don’t pay attention to. I do believe it is a four before I knew what PR was it was a 5.
Which blog is that, Opal?
Congrats!
I installed the Google page rank tool bar just a few days ago and I had no rank, which made no sense… Today’s it suddenly jumped to four. I don’t know if Google did an update, or what. Zero to four seems like a big leap. However, if ten is the highest you can go, then I’m pretty happy to be at four and looking forward to the next six milestones
as I’m sure you are!
Problogger mentioned this jump in PR in his post tonight. Hope this isn’t some massive screw-up on the part of Google.
That would be Vegan Momma. I made a lot of changes in April which I think caused my ranking to drop to 4.
The websites I created in May & June have stayed the same. They have 3′s and 4′s. I started I did see my photography website has a two so that is very cool. I started my photography website this past October.
@ Opal – The higher the number, the better. I’m showing 2s on your site – do you have the Google toolbar?
Small update to all: I’ve read that PR all over may go up and down and up and down before it settles over the next few days. Spent an hour or so researching. There is a PR predictor at Dig (not Digg) that many people were using.
Not too sure if it’s accurate; it’s giving us a prediction of 5 once this is over. I think I’d have to start wondering about how Google calculates stuff if we get that high. Or laugh.
@James,
You must be looking at my intro page I’m working on that. I’m thinking that will be a “resource library” for everything related to vegan nutrition.
My blog http://www.veganmomma.com/blog is a four and yes I’m now very familiar with Google PR, lol. The PR predictor isn’t that accurate it said I would be a 6. A few of my friends went down to a 0 and they weren’t selling links nor did they have advertisers on their website.
No, I went to the blog first and that was showing no ranking; that’s why I asked. No big deal – I just wanted to know if I was missing something. What I’m missing right now is coffee, though
Gotcha!
I’ve noticed with some toolbars they don’t recognize subdirectories. I’m not sure why? So yes it will show my rank as 0. It’s inaccurate. I will rank with the home page but not the /blog
In the past I’ve used Dig, iwebtook, PRflux I’m still a four according to them. I’m a member of a service that ranks you according to your PR I just checked and yes I’m still a four.
Sheesh now you have me checking my PR, what next?
lol
LOL Sorry about that. You should see when Harry unwittingly asks me about something he’s puzzling over. I’m suddenly gone, researching like an obsessed maniac and basically being the kid who takes the toaster apart to figure out how it’s put together.
I can give you some clue what it takes to get to PR5:

Would love to know the numbers for 6 and 7..
@ Tony – Looks like math, bro… I was told there wouldn’t be any math…
