We’re Back – and With Big Plans

We’re back, and we’re very glad to see we were missed during our hiatus. It’s been good to see the visits and comments on our blog over the holidays.

Way back in November, we began planning for 2008 changes. We booked a two-week vacation during the holidays to focus on aspects of our business we wanted to develop, trim out, build up or overhaul completely.

Well, we didn’t quite make it.

Much of what was on our list still isn’t done. We got sidetracked by actually taking a break this year (for once) and relaxing with our families.

All is not lost, though. Here’s a look at our upcoming year (subject to change without notice):

• Our biggest focus this year is on our new design and look. It’s a big project to overhaul our current image, and we’re excited about the upcoming changes. We’ll be changing domain names at the same time, but we’ll give you plenty of advance notice. (Those who type in our URL by hand will thank us!)

• We want to focus more on marketing. We’ve got plenty of work, but we want to specialize more in certain areas and concentrate on promoting other services we currently offer on the side. Of course, marketing a business is always a priority regardless.

• We have some plans for courses, new ebooks, and plenty of other goodies, too. Figuring out what people want and need is always a challenge, but it’s great fun. It’s always been our goal to give back to the community and provide a good resource for writers and entrepreneurs, so we’ll keep working on that part of our vision.

• We want to determine the best balance between play and work. Blogging’s slightly addictive and provides a great deal of pleasure for both me and Harry. But we do need to figure out the perfect combination of business blogging and running a business, too.

• Playing in the sandbox of the Big Boys would be real nice, so we’re going to work on getting that little bit of an extra edge to reach that point. I think we’re doing well in that area, and moving slowly lays a good foundation for that type of goal.
