Will You Be Making This Your Best Year Ever?

Will You Be Making This Your Best Year Ever?

Every year come January, millions of people all around the world decide to make sure the coming 12 months are better than those that came before.

Last year was okay. This year can be so much more. And they’re ready to do what it takes to change the status quo and push into success.

So tell me: Will 2013 be your best year ever?

I bet you’re thinking, “I sure hope so, James!” And as I write this post, I’m thinking the same for my own businesses: I want 2013 to be better than ever, full of game-changing results.

Not just for me, but for you.

You and I both know that bettering your business, changing your game and improving your results doesn’t happen magically. There’s work to be done. Action to be taken.

You need to follow through.

If you do… well, that’s when the magic happens. You can pretty much guarantee your efforts this year will pay off in success, because you’ll have tipped the scales in favor of positive results.

And boy, will life ever be good.

Speaking of good, we have plenty of good stuff coming your way this year. After all, at Men with Pens, our entire philosophy is devoted to helping you reach your goals of achieving the life you want.

Here’s a taste of what we’re up to:

Damn Fine Words: The Next Session

You know that great content is key to engaging readers and bringing clients to your doors. Blog posts, newsletters, website copy, emails… you have to write a lot to achieve your business goals.

The problem is that you don’t know how.

Oh, sure, you know how to write – most people do. But that’s just a basic skill, and you need far more than that to succeed with your words.

You know how to write a blog post – but you don’t have the first clue about how to write a compelling blog post (and in less than a painful 5 hours). You know you need copywriting for your website, but you aren’t really sure how to write website copy that actually brings you sales. And all this jazz you’re told about ‘engage your audience, make them loyal fans and boost your sales’ just leaves you with one big question:

Damn Fine Words is the writing course that teaches you how. Designed for business owners, you’ll learn the content creation skills that turn writing for your business into a pleasant, fast and effective joy.

Yes: No matter how painful writing is for you now, it can become a fun task you look forward to.

New students can’t believe how quickly they learn – and how much their writing changes for the better. Past students rave about the course. (You can check out what they say here.)

Damn Fine Words opens to new students this February, so get on the waiting list here… and get ready: this course is exactly what you need to make this year your best ever.

Damn Fine Ebooks: The Next Level

I began Damn Fine Words because I was tired of seeing so many people struggle with writing. I wanted to help. And the course changed the lives of many, many people.

Then students asked for more: most of them wanted to learn my tricks and techniques to write a great ebook. They knew the value of writing one… but how? Was it just as simple as writing until your arm fell off? What about this ‘storytelling’ stuff? How should they work that in?

The questions kept coming, and I answered the call. It took me a year to create this new course, and I’m proud to say that it’s finally here:

Damn Fine Ebooks is the ebook-writing course that goes far beyond “outline, draft, you’re done!” advice you’ve heard a million times already – this course gets right to the heart of how to write sexy content so readers stay glued to the pages.

Readers become fans. Fans become clients. Clients become cash.

Your ebook kicks it all off.

Here’s the secret wizardry of this course: It actually isn’t about writing an ebook at all.

It’s about writing great content.

You’ll finish the course with a complete ebook, absolutely. (I even help you write it!) But you’ll also finish the course with advanced-level writing skills that help you turn any piece of content you write into compelling words that flow with perfection.

Apply your newfound writing skills to your blog posts, your newsletters – heck, even your daily emails – and watch the results pour in.

In Other News… a New Look!

Men with Pens will be unveiling a brand new look in the coming months – and we can’t wait to show it to you.

That’s right; we’re rebranding. For several months we’ve been working on livening up the place with a new design that’s fun, fresh and casually perfect. We’re touching up some final details and soon, all will be revealed.

We’ll also be bringing plenty of changes to our package offers as well. We’re refocusing our most popular website design, WordPress customization and copywriting servicesto better fit your business needs.

You’ll enjoy the same high-end quality we create now, and working with us will be even better than before. Far more simpler, and way more fun. You’ll be able to get exactly what you need to make your website a true success this year.

And a New Style of Blogging!

There are well over a thousand articles here at the Men with Pens blog, and it’s become a leading, trusted resource for thousands of writers, freelancers and small business owners around the world.

We’ll be continuing to give you the smart, practical advice you’re used to, of course, but we want to change things up a bit to make the blog more fun, more practical and more of what you need.

So you’ll notice some new style of posts over the coming months. Some will be short, relevant and smart as hell. Some will be funny or intriguing. Some will be practical and immediately useful.

Some will just be for the hell of it.

They say that variety is the spice of life, and we definitely feel it’s time to spice things up a little. Call it an experiment, if you will. So keep your eyes open for more great content, and feel free to let me know what sort of posts you’d like to see around here!

In the meantime… Happy New Year, and may this be your very best year ever.

  1. Damn Fine Books, about dang time!!!!

Great way to start the new year!

    • Hey, hey, HEY… two hands, one brain. No magic wand!

But yeah, I’m pretty excited about the coming year. It’s going to be a big one – not that any of the last few were small!

    • If you’re serious about writing for your business, do whatever you (legally) have to do to get your butt into the Damn Fine Words course in February. Stop “thinking about it” and just do it. It’s the best decision I ever made for my business. I use these techniques every day, and I cannot imagine how I ever thought writing was hard before. Seriously…just do it already.

  2. James,

You alway amaze me with your writing and offers! I can not wait to see this next offer that is coming up and what all you have up your sleeve on this one!

Thanks for providing one of the best blogs around!

  3. Yes! I love freshness and change. Can’t wait to see the new design. I’m planning to make 2013 the best year yet.

  4. Diane Aksten says:

  5. Can’t wait to see the new look, James. And the new blog style. Who knows? Maybe even I’ll be able to contribute something.

    P.S. Happy New Year.

  6. We always hope that the new year will be better, don’t we? Glad to see that you have great plans. I started this year stronger then the last, wrote more words, and my first novel is almost finished.
    Good luck for 2013!
